Awesome Ways: A Handwritten Font That Makes Campaigns Feel Human

It was 3:47 p.m. on launch day — and I was squinting at a YouTube thumbnail on my phone. The headline read “New Summer Collection Is Here!” in a clean, modern sans serif… but it felt sterile. Like a robot wrote it. Not warm. Not inviting. Not *us*. That’s when I opened my font library, scrolled past the usual suspects, and clicked Awesome Ways.

Within seconds, I swapped the headline. Suddenly, “Summer Collection” looked like it had been sketched by hand — with soft curves, subtle ink variation, and those little delightful ligatures that connect letters just right. It wasn’t perfect. It was *alive*. And that tiny change made the whole thumbnail stop feeling like an ad and start feeling like a note from a friend.

Awesome Ways is a premium handwritten script font built for moments like this — when your campaign needs personality, not polish. It’s not a generic “cursive” font with stiff loops and robotic spacing. It’s a true Script Amp typeface: expressive, rhythm-driven, and full of intentional imperfections — like ink pooling at the end of a stroke or letters leaning into each other just enough to feel conversational.

I’ve used Awesome Ways across six different campaign assets this month alone: Instagram Reels covers, Pinterest quote pins, email banner headers, a webinar promo series, product labels for a small-batch online shop, and even a set of branded Canva templates for a client’s content team. Every time, it served the same strategic role: cutting through visual noise with warmth and clarity.

Here’s what makes it work so well in fast-scrolling feeds:

One afternoon, I tested two versions of the same Instagram Story slide: one with Awesome Ways for the headline and a neutral sans serif (Inter, Regular) for supporting text, and another using only the sans serif throughout. Team members consistently said the first version “felt more intentional” and “made the offer easier to remember.” Not because it was prettier — but because the contrast created instant hierarchy. The handwritten font signaled *this part matters*, while the clean sans serif kept details legible and trustworthy.

That pairing — Awesome Ways + a friendly, highly legible sans serif — has become my go-to system for any campaign where authenticity and clarity both matter. It works just as well with a quiet serif (like Lora) for editorial-style pins or a minimalist monospace for unexpected contrast in digital ads. What doesn’t work? Pairing it with another script font — unless you’re designing a wedding invite or artisanal packaging where layered handwriting makes sense. For most marketing use cases, simplicity wins.

Before dropping Awesome Ways into a live campaign, I always check three things:

  1. File formats. It comes in OTF and TTF — both work flawlessly in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva (via upload). No rendering hiccups on web banners or email clients.
  2. Ligature support. Make sure your design tool has OpenType features enabled — otherwise you’ll miss the magic connections that give Awesome Ways its natural flow.
  3. Licensing. It’s a commercial font, meaning you can use it in client work, digital ads, merchandise, and SaaS dashboards — no extra fees or attribution required. Just verify multilingual glyphs if you’re running campaigns in Spanish, French, or Portuguese (it supports Latin-1 and basic diacritics).

Last week, I used Awesome Ways for a set of Pinterest pins promoting a free workshop series. The title “Let’s Build Your First Funnel” appeared in Awesome Ways, while bullet points and dates stayed in a clean sans serif. Click-throughs weren’t tracked — but saves spiked. People were screenshotting the pins, sharing them in DMs, even tagging friends with “This looks like something *we’d* write.” That’s the power of typography that feels human-first.

It’s also become my secret weapon for online shop campaigns. When a new candle line launched, we used Awesome Ways on the hero banner (“Hand-Poured • Small Batch • Made With Care”) — then repeated the exact same phrase on product labels and Instagram Stories. That consistency didn’t just reinforce the brand voice; it helped shoppers recognize the collection instantly, even without the logo visible.

Of course, Awesome Ways isn’t for every message. It wouldn’t suit a cybersecurity whitepaper or a fintech dashboard — and that’s okay. Its strength lies in campaigns where warmth, approachability, and handmade charm are strategic advantages: lifestyle brands, creative courses, wellness offerings, indie products, and community-driven launches. It signals care, craft, and intention — not just information.

So next time you’re tweaking a thumbnail, prepping a carousel, or building a week of social posts — ask yourself: does this need to feel like it came from a person, not a platform? If yes, pull up Awesome Ways. Let the ligatures breathe. Trust the rhythm. And watch how quickly your message goes from seen to remembered.
